Wildflower Oasis

I painted this from a photo I took while at one of the most beautiful, serene places I think I have ever been. It was the Ile de la Bonaventure (or Bonadventure Island) on the east coast of Quebec, near Gaspe. There was so much to see and so much scope for imagination there I was almost overwhelmed. I remember sitting on a tuft of grass looking at the water and thinking this is heaven. I can't even describe the sense of peace I had on that tiny island.

A lone tree branch peeking out from another tree

I painted this from a picture I took while on vacation in the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Truly a beautiful place.

Bird in cattails

Painted from a picture I took while taking a walk in the Don Valley Brickworks.  A huge field of cattails (lovely plant by the way) and I spotted this red-winged black bird in the midst of all the plants. Little did he know he would be inspiration for a painting!
